About Me
I'm a queer scientist currently pursuing a PhD at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, working with Dr. Luis Huckstadt and Dr. Michael Tift. I'm investigating the ecological changes experienced by Antarctic crabeater seals due to sea ice loss and prey habitat redistribution. My background is in pinniped ecology and physiology. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as the Stranding Coordinator for the San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network in Friday Harbor, WA. In 2015 and 2017, respectively, I graduated from the Ocean Research College Academy (A.S Marine Science) and the University of Washington (B.S. Biological Oceanography). Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I've developed a deep appreciation and connection to the marine ecosystem, spending every opportunity on the water.
